Music Development Director : Full-time

CWC Search for "Music Development Director"
Review of nominations and applications for the position of CWC Music Development Director has already begun and will continue until we find God's best for this ministry role.
Contact information: David.Drury@collegewes.com Or: David Drury, Executive Pastor, College Wesleyan Church, 200 East 38th Street, Marion, IN 46953.
Search and Position Summary: The people of College Wesleyan Church are searching for a creative, skilled musician to lead the musical elements of worship in our services and to develop the next generation of church musicians we have in our midst. Our church in uniquely positioned to influence the future worship leaders and musicians in the church with more than 1,000 college students in attendance from several schools. We feel compelled to expand our staff in the direction of worship by adding this position, in the end doing more to engage our people in worship and train people in leading church music and worship.
Our priorities for this role:
PRIORITY #1 — We want this person to be a developer of people. We believe they should be energized by the vision of "developing the next generation of worship leaders for the Kingdom of God" and that they will have the skills to equip those future musicians and leaders. They should be able to develop musicians to lead in worship and be engaging in their interactions with young church musicians and worship leaders, being a relational draw to them. But they should also be inter-generational, relating well with people of all ages, and having a "warm spot" in their heart for the seniors in our church. We want this person to be a relational fit with our people and leadership.
PRIORITY #2 — We want this person to be a skilled creative musician. This person should be able to play musically at a level that inspires other people to participate, follow their leadership, get involved and lead themselves. At some level, they should be able to teach music to others, mentoring those less skilled to become more so but also able to "speak music" to the most gifted among us. We're eager for someone to be creative musically, even writing songs for worship, and to lead worship well from an instrument they feel at home with. They should have musical flexibility & intuition about the service flow and a sense of the Spirit moving. They would also long to work in a collaborative environment where services are designed by a team and multiple other staff and volunteers are involved with them in that process.
About CWC: Throughout our 110 years, we have been known as a place for genuine, compassionate and soundly scriptural teaching and ministry to people from around the world. We are "home" to people from diverse places and stations including hundreds of college students and many seniors. We are committed to the teachings and mission of Jesus Christ. We are striving to become the kind of people and the kind of church that He envisioned — active in our witness and consistent in our faith — to serve this present age. CWC is a multi-venue church with over 1,300 in attendance with the unique role of connecting campus and community. In November of 2007, we relocated to an entirely new facility on 38th street. Our mission: Together we partner with God to restore people and redeem the world by reflecting the image of Christ. Our strategic themes are transforming, discovering, pre-empting, resourcing, including & belonging.

Outreach/Missions : Full-Time
Posted: 2009-10-05
The Wesleyan Church of Hamburg (WCH), located in the Southtowns of Buffalo, NY, is seeking to fill a full-time position of Outreach/Missions.
A suburban church with an attendance of nearly 2,000 each week, the mission of WCH calls us to glorify God together: growing in Christ, serving His world and inviting others to know Him. Five years ago WCH followed God's call to become more missional in our efforts; extending to our community, the City of Buffalo and globally through partnerships with World Hope and World Relief in countries such as Congo, Zambia, Rwanda, and Lebanon.
In the City of Buffalo we have seven major partnerships ranging from medical to literacy training. We also partner with ministries serving families in the Southtowns and work in conjunction with local leadership and the Town of Hamburg to serve our region. Currently, the primary responsibilities of organization and leadership for outreach / missions ministry are provided by WCH attendees/members. Being a mission-minded church is not something we take lightly . . . it is who we are, our DNA, the Church as God has called us to be.
The position of Outreach/Missions will fill a critical role in our calling and the person we are looking for must have the ability to cast and fulfill a vision for Outreach/Missions by helping church members understand that they are God's agents of transformation in the world and moving them into deeper engagement. This person will also be able to build upon existing ministry relationships as well as explore new partnerships, and lead in the planning, organizing, and implementation of missions activities and events.
The ideal candidate will live wholeheartedly for Jesus as evidenced by godly character, passion for God, desire to reach the lost, Spirit-filled faith, genuine humility, and strong relational skills. He or she will have a Bachelor's degree and minimally three to five years work experience that includes experience managing large budgets.
If God is leading you to explore the possibility of joining this great team we would like to hear from you. Send a resume via e-mail to jclements@wchamburg.org and we will send you an information packet.
