OWU Signs Hometown Talent

Oklahoma Wesleyan University announced the signing of Bartlesville native Rebecca Schluter for the upcoming 2009-10 basketball season.

Schluter, a 6-1 center, played her high school basketball for local Wesleyan Christian School. She will join former high school teammates Chantel Plummer and Kayla Deal on the Lady Eagle squad.

Schluter excelled on the court in high school, scoring 1,253 career points, pulling down 1,034 career rebounds and blocking 340 shots. In her senior season, she averaged 20.8 points and 337 rebounds per game, while blocking nearly 100 shots.

During her prolific career with the Lady Mustangs, Schluter acquired numerous honors. She helped lead her squad to an Oklahoma Christian School Athletic Association State Championship and was named to the OCSAA All-State team three times. She was also named Cherokee Conference Most Valuable Player two times and held first team All-Conference honors three times.
