Global Partners Hosts First-Ever Dialogue
Oct. 23, 2009
Calling it the "first-ever opportunity for significant interaction with all seven Global Partners area directors," Global Partners hosted an October 21-22, 2009, information dialogue at The Wesleyan Church World Headquarters in Fishers, Indiana.
Led by General Director of Global Partners, Dr. H. C. Wilson, and Global Partners Director of Operations, Rev. Peter Moore, the dialogue offered the opportunity for Global Partners senior leaders/area directors, who were in Indiana for a directors meeting, to give firsthand updates on their area ministries and answer questions from North American district missions leaders and missions pastors.
The district missions leaders hold an annual meeting, but this event marked the first time that all of the overseas area directors could be present and provide "face-to-face interaction and presentations." Area directors present were from Africa (Dr. Bob Bagley), Asia (Dr. Romy Caringal), Caribe Atlantic (Rev. Dan Irvine, pictured), Europe (Rev. Dennis Jackson), Ibero-America (formerly Latin America; Rev. Jarvis Ferguson), Turkic/Arabic (name withheld for security reasons) and Pacific (Dr. John Connor). Nearly forty district missions directors and missions pastors saw PowerPoint presentations from the area directors and were able to interact with them about the needs and answered prayer of the mission areas. Global Partners has 200 plus missions personnel and a Wesleyan presence in eighty countries of the world.
Peter Moore said, "As a former district director for Global Partners for ten years, I always found this time to be an excellent mix of information and inspiration." The attendees agreed. Jonathan Lewis, North Carolina East district missions director said, "This was an opportunity to hear not only the needs of the missions areas, but also to hear of the opportunities. I found myself wishing I could put a team together to help out in every one of these areas."
