North Carolina East Church Damaged in Fire

The Harkers Island Free Grace Wesleyan Church building was struck by lightning at 2:00 a.m., Sunday morning, July 6. By 2:15 a.m., the old sanctuary was engulfed in flames. The fire gutted the old sanctuary and Sunday school classrooms, while the new sanctuary suffered only minimal smoke and water damage. District Superintendent Dan LeRoy requests prayer for Pastor Clint Nelson and the congregation as they meet with insurance adjustors and make plans for the future.
