May 22-25, 2022, marks the end of our extended quadrennium. While the coronavirus pandemic disrupted our normal conference rhythm, we are ready to embark on the significant business decisions before us and eager to gather again as The Wesleyan Church family.
Business sessions consider The Wesleyan Church’s past, present and future. Reports are received on the spiritual, financial and numerical condition of The Wesleyan Church, as well as the duties and activities of our general officers. Future church leadership is set in motion with the General Superintendent, general officers and General Board member elections.
Sessions encompass the consideration of and voting on memorials that could change, add to or refine provisions within “The Discipline” if adopted. General Conference special orders cover the scheduling of caucus meetings, election and installation of general officers, presentation of fraternal and international delegates.
On Sunday, May 22 at 1:30 p.m. (CT), a pre-conference memorial question and answer session will be held for conference attendees. There are five scheduled business sessions: Monday through Wednesday, May 23-25 at 8:30–11:30 a.m. and Monday and Tuesday 1–5 p.m. Time has been reserved Monday from 6:30–7:30 p.m. for an as-needed business session.
Additionally, the 14th General Conference is filled with opportunities to pray, worship and fellowship. Worship services on Sunday evening at 6 and Tuesday evening at 6:30 will unite us in celebration of God’s Kingdom Force Unleashed.
At 7:30 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, the Tri-State District prayer team will lead prayer for the day and pending decisions at their booth in the Conference Exhibit Hall. The team will be available throughout the day for personal prayer.
Receptions and group gatherings augment lunch and dinner times, allowing us to fellowship and testify to the goodness of the Lord in our lives and across The Wesleyan Church.
General Conference extends to delegates and guests an open invitation to visit the Exhibit Hall. Exhibitors will share their services, concepts, tools and ideas to meet our ministry needs and inspire us for kingdom service.
Additional information on the conference schedule or business items listed above are in your delegate binder. The delegate binder, included in the conference registration bag, will be provided to you at hotel check-in. The binder and additional memorial resources will be required each day during business sessions.
