UPDATE: We have received word from the family that Amanda is with Jesus in heaven. Please continue praying for the family, especially husband, Davey, and little boy, Weston.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, November 15, at 5:00 p.m. at Trader’s Point Christian Church (6590 S Indianapolis Rd., Whitestown, IN 46075) with visitation immediately following.
Mrs. Amanda Blackburn, wife of Rev. Davey Blackburn, suffered an extremely serious head injury Tuesday morning and is in very critical condition at an Indianapolis hospital. Family members are at her side. Davey and Amanda are graduates of Southern Wesleyan University and Davey is the church-planting pastor for Resonate Church in Indianapolis. He is the grandson of Dr. Jim Blackburn.
Please pray for stabilization and a miracle. These prayers are deeply needed and appreciated.
Davey’s Dad, David Blackburn, Sr., a pastor in North Carolina, writes:
“The Family of God is amazing! So many of you, literally from around the globe, have come together to pray for Amanda Blackburn. Our families are overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayer and expressions of love. I will tell you that we have been leaning on those prayers heavily. Here is the latest:
The doctors are prepping a test to check on brain activity and blood flow. There is great concern about the amount of damage in the head injury. This test will determine any next course of action. Davey is being held powerfully by our Lord and is a remarkable tower of strength. As his dad, I’m in awe of God’s strength flowing through him. That is because the Body of Christ is actively praying. Please keep praying. We are grateful for each one of you!”
