Wesleyans are invited to combine spiritual formation with personal renewal on an interactive discipleship cruise to Cuba and the Bahamas May 21-25, 2018. Passengers will depart from Miami, Florida, aboard the Norwegian Sky cruise ship and sail through the Caribbean while exploring and engaging more deeply in the area of discipleship.
“It has been my experience that great personal transformation occurs when you shut down and turn off distractions and focus on God,” said Kim Gladden, Discipleship director. “It is my daily prayer that Wesleyans in all stages of their discipleship journeys find space to grow, and I believe that this cruise provides an excellent opportunity for that growth to occur.”
The transformative journey includes wonderful fellowship, impactful worship and time to reflect. Guest speakers are Ken Nash and Steve DeNeff. In addition to devotions led by Wayne and Jo Anne Lyon, and discipleship workshops led by members of the Church Multiplication and Discipleship team, passengers will worship with the Cuban Wesleyans in Havana and explore a private island in the Bahamas.
The cruise allows its passengers to take time away, unplug from technology and refresh with other Christ-followers to grow deeper in their faith and exploration of discipleship. Church congregations, small groups, Bible studies, church staff and Sunday school classes are invited to attend.
“The Discipleship Cruise offers solid teaching, fervent worship and a cross-cultural experience; each and everything focusing on our God,” Gladden said. “Please pray about joining us.”
The Discipleship Cruise, the first for The Wesleyan Church, is hosted by Church Multiplication and Discipleship.
