Go quickly and tell his disciples: “He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.” (Matt. 28:7)
When something is important, urgency is usually felt in someone’s voice. When someone is in a hurry, we might make a comment about the fact that they were walking with a purpose. But when it comes to sharing what Jesus has done for us, are we urgent?
An angel of the Lord wanted to say some things to the women who went to give Jesus’ body a proper burial. They listened to four messages. One told them not to be afraid. Another message told them that Jesus was gone. A third message told them to see for themselves. And the last message instructed them to go and tell.
As we tell others about Christ, we need the same assurances. We need courage, faith, experience, and urgency. We are one day closer to eternity than we were yesterday. Today is the best day to rehearse your testimony. Today is the best day to tell someone about Jesus. Today is the best day to love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus is alive and wants as many as possible to accept him as Savior.
Tell them Jesus loves them and that there is forgiveness for their sins. Tell them you love them and will do your best to walk with Christ and share what you know about him with them. But what’s the key? Go quickly! Time is running out.
Don’t delay because Jesus is the answer and the time is now!
