Every congregation hopes to make disciples. But few congregations have a way to know how effective they are at fulfilling that intention. With that in mind, leaders from around The Wesleyan Church (TWC) and beyond have built a framework for understanding discipleship.
In this video, Director of Discipleship Kim Gladden provides five lenses through which to evaluate your local church’s discipleship model.
The Great Commandment and the Great Commission bring these lenses into focus. Questions are provided to help us gain a clearer vision of the life of discipleship. These categories are not meant to supersede any discipleship model our congregations may have developed; these are simply a helpful way of evaluating how our congregations’ models are doing.
As you consider the lenses and ponder the questions that Kim offers, we invite you to consider how God might nourish you and the life of your church in these areas. Download the video and free resource to use as a conversation starter in your local congregation.
