Indiana Wesleyan University saw over 3,600 high school students gather on Friday, March 27, for the opening session of “FUSION” weekend. The conference drew 1,200 students to stay on campus and participate in the weekend experience that included practical seminars, leadership training, interactive activities, and general sessions. Special guests for the weekend included Grammy-winning artist Lecrae, the Hunter Smith Band, and speaker Brent Crow, executive director of Student Leadership University.
“The best part of this conference for me is seeing our students leading and engaging with the visiting high school students in this ministry,” said Charlie Alcock, professor of youth ministry and director of FUSION. “The reports of life change keep flooding in as one email reported that they held a baptismal service the Sunday following FUSION for eleven of their students who made commitments to Christ.”
Following FUSION is the annual Never2Young event on May 1 and 2. Over 1,000 middle school students are expected again this year with special guest speaker Steven Perry, middle school pastor at 12Stone Church in Lawrenceville, Ga. Momentum Dance Crew, a ministry of the Edge Church in Grand Rapids, Mich., and Revolution, IWU’s worship band, will also be part of the weekend. Click here for more information.
