United Wesleyan Church in Easley, S.C., recently celebrated welcoming new members into its church family.
Two years ago a cell group of Latino members in the community began meeting in the space provided by the United Wesleyan Church congregation. Led by Pastor Orvan Link, the group has grown to around 35 people who worship every Sunday afternoon.
Thirteen of these individuals became official members of United Wesleyan Church during the first bilingual church service together. More than 200 from the church greeted and welcomed every new member that day. The group also shared a meal together after church.
“We are thankful for our new family members and worshipers,” said one member of United Wesleyan’s local board of administration. The LBA member also noted that the church demographics is also reflecting the community demographics more.
