Rev. Dr. Richard Waugh, National Superintendent of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of New Zealand, was honoured in a ceremony hosted by the Deputy Speaker of the New Zealand parliament with a NZ Christian Network award for his ‘Unity & Leadership’ work in the New Zealand Church.
As WMCNZ National Superintendent Richard continues to live out John Wesley’s ‘Catholic Spirit’ with his extensive ecumenical work, including the chairing of the Auckland Church Leaders Meeting and the National Church Leaders Meeting. He does this with the sacrificial support of his wife, Jane; along with adult children, Simon, Theresa, and Kristie; and the kingdom-minded orientation of East City Wesleyan Church, where he is senior pastor.
The NZ Christian Network is a network of Christian churches, organisations, and individuals established to help the church in New Zealand be more united and effective and to present a reasoned Christian voice on public issues to media and government.
