When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her. (Ruth 1:18)
The young Korean man was in his teens and had just received a death sentence. He had contracted tuberculosis and was given less than six months to live. A follower of Buddha, he had not seen his god come through for his needs. As he lay in a hospital bed, however, God sent an angel in the person of a young woman who came and shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with him; she gave him her only Bible.
As the young man began reading, God’s truth began to speak to him. He realized there was a void in his life that only Jesus could fill, so he surrendered his life to the Lord and began to live for him.
Naomi lost her husband and two sons, finding herself in a tough spot with two young women looking up to her for their futures. As she followed what the Lord set before her, not only did Naomi herself find the care she needed in her land, but her daughter-in law Ruth did as well.
No one knows what became of the young woman who gave David Yonggi Cho that Bible in the hospital as he waited to die, but her faithfulness to God not only helped to save his soul, but that of hundreds of thousands of other South Koreans with whom he had shared the gospel.
No one else was equipped like you. Be bold for God.
