The following is a listing of Wesleyan pastors, missionaries and leaders who have passed away. These notices were received through July 3 – July 16.
Rev. Alvin James “A.J.” Kendrick (94) died July 9. He pastored in North Carolina.
Dr. David Thompson (80) died July 4. He pastored in Kentucky and Maryland and was a renowned Old Testament scholar. He was professor emeritus at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, and taught biblical languages and inductive Bible study (three years at Marion College [now Indiana Wesleyan University] in Marion, Indiana, and 38 years at Asbury).
