In 2014-2015, The Wesleyan Church in North America set another new record in worship attendance. With 234,427 persons attending weekend worship attendance, the denomination registered the highest average attendance in its history. Attendance in the past decade has increased by 21 percent.
The 1,680 churches also reported 32,782 conversions, up 44 percent from ten years ago, and 10,842 baptisms, an increase of 48 percent over ten years ago.
Commenting on the growth, General Superintendent Dr. Jo Anne Lyon said, “This is the result of spiritual leaders focused on their call and commitment to the gospel that transforms lives, churches, and communities. I regularly hear these powerful stories of transformation, which puts flesh on the numbers and I am personally overwhelmed with God’s grace and love each time.”
