Such a Time as This

Esther 4:14: “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Romans 12:2: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Thank you, Lord, for His non-stop renewing of my mind …… that always gives me very joyous surprises! And just days ago, HE poured another new perspective in me ….…..

It all started in the past few weeks – the Holy Spirit kept popping into my mind the book of Esther’s famous verse, “You have come to this position for such a time as this ….. ” plus the Christ-like part of my spiritual journey:

When I was still a new convert, I was taught to be holistically Christ-like in all aspects of life. Years later, when the Lord called me into full-time ministry, a local pastor’s “Little Christ everywhere” vision kept vibrantly enlightening me in all ministerial directions. Then last week in the District Pastoral gathering, the terminology “Mini-Christ all over everywhere” came up again! Not to mention that this morning, at the online prayer meeting that I was invited to, the focal point was exactly “All-in, Live out Christ”!

As the term “Little/Mini- Christ/live out Christ” keeps coming up, I sensed I’d better revisit Jesus’ earthly life to see what HE is going to speak to me this time! The Lord says, “Go through the book of Luke ….. “ so I did. And here is what I get:

Jesus is so intentional for the Good News to be heard! And He is so ready for everyone everywhere, every moment, through every available channel/conduit! To Jesus, “such a time as this” means every minute …. His earthly position is for every minute!

Thank you, Lord, for this paradigm shift! Under this newest inspiration, “Such a time as this” covers any moment, not just those dramatic gigantic saving-the-world type of eye-catching moments! That means my current position is for the moment that I am now in ….. no matter the ups or downs that I am going through, it is for the Lord to stretch me to be ready for another level of moment, all for His Glory! In other words, I am valuable in God’s eyes, no matter how high or low my earthly position is, or what I am doing in ministry as per His calling, or how people evaluate me by their earthly formula!

Thank you, Lord; under this newest inspiration, I can encourage more people to do the same to touch more people’s lives ….. For example:

  • To an elderly person who has no choice but to move to a far-a-way nursing home, “Extremely sad to see elderly leaving this world without Jesus ……. So you are our precious Missionary to this new ministry field!”
  • To a small business owner in a travelling business, “Your Tour Bus is the Moving Tabernacle!”
  • To a Biblically raised youth who finds no Christian friend in his/her secular college, “You are counter-cultural and solid enough for the world to hate you but for God to attract people, plant a church, and build friendship group via you!”
  • To whoever needs to stay in a hospital / rehab center for who knows how long, “The medical professionals around you need Jesus, and Jesus’ aroma flows out from you!”
  • To someone who just got a new puppy, “Your cute cute dog will become an Evangelical Dog under your training!”

On and on and on ……. Absolutely no limit to how far You can go, Lord. Praise You for all, Lord

PRAYER: (Eph. 5:16) Making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

Dear Heavenly Father Almighty God, we ask for courage to make the most of every opportunity from everywhere to everywhere like Jesus does – to share Your Good News and make disciples who make disciples and continue to multiply. “Bless us to walk with a posture of who You are so that people will want to be more like You Lord”**. All for Your Glory Lord. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen, Amen, Amen!
