See photo gallery below, including updated photos from the Act Now Nepal! team that is serving Nepali Wesleyans who have suffered great devastation.
The quake was 22 times more powerful than the one that leveled Haiti in 2010. Over 7,000 died and over 14,000 were injured in Nepal. Several of our fifty Wesleyan congregations were near the epicenter.
The need for life’s essentials—water, food, shelter, sanitation—continues to be great. Thousands are without homes, including many Wesleyans. 70 large, sturdy family tents (445 SQ. FT.) were flown in this week to provide temporary shelters. A Global Partners assessment team will be traveling to Nepal in association with World Hope International on May 14-20.
To assist the church in Nepal in their great need, The Wesleyan Church of North America has set up the Wesleyan Emergency Relief Fund where 100% of the proceeds will be used to assist Nepali earthquake victims. You can give online at https://www.wesleyan.org/relief or send checks to: The Wesleyan Church, c/o General Treasurer’s Office, P.O. Box 50434, Indianapolis, IN 46250. (Please designate in the check’s memo line that your gift is for Nepal relief.)
Pray that in the midst of all the loss and suffering, people will come to Jesus.
