Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University will launch a new leadership specialization in honor of Dr. John Perkins as part of the M.A. in Ministry.
According to Aaron Wilkinson, associate vice president of Adult Enrollment Services with Indiana Wesleyan University-National & Global, “Dr. Perkins is one of the most important historical figures in Christian Community Development and racial reconciliation.” Perkins is the co-founder and chairman emeritus of CCDA (Christian Community Development Association).
As part of the program, students will have an opportunity to take a special elective class in Mississippi with Perkins. Students will also have the choice of taking a special elective at the annual Christian Community Development Association conference. The cohort was initiated through connections with Wesleyan pastors in the Pacific Southwest District.
In keeping with the seminary’s spirit of “bringing seminary to you where you are,” three of the twelve courses will be completed through one-week courses in Oakland, California. All interested individuals are invited to join this special cohort. Contact wesley@indwes.edu for more information.
The specialization will launch in March 2018.
