Dr. Alfred M. Kalembo has been National Superintendent of the Pilgrim Wesleyan Church of Zambia for two decades. On September 15, he was elected President of the Council of Churches in Zambia for a three-year term.
Dr. Kalembo requests prayer that God will help him to provide effective leadership to the Body of Christ in Zambia. The role is not merely honorific, but carries with it considerable responsibility. Dr. Kalembo noted, “It is humbling that The Wesleyan Church is being recognized in such a manner in Zambia.”
The Council of Churches in Zambia is comprised of 22 denominations. Some of the other prominent churches include the Salvation Army, Brethren in Christ, United Church of Zambia, and Reformed Church in Zambia. There are also 19 affiliate organizations such as the Bible Society of Zambia and Scripture Union.
