She gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem. (Luke 2:38)
Have you ever found yourself so excited after returning from a thrilling sports event or great movie? You want to share what you have just experienced with the first friend or family member you see. You wish they had been there for the spectacular finish or amazing plot twist. Your words come out fast, your hands move to emphasize the key points, and your eyes barely blink! You cannot control your enthusiasm and tell them everything you saw.
Think how Anna must have felt after years waiting at the temple. She was not bitter for the long wait, but instead she immediately gave thanks. What she witnessed in seeing the Savior was simply too good not to tell others. She told many people about her experience with this holy child. Can you imagine her passion after so many years of waiting for a moment like this? She would have been quite convincing to all.
The moment Jesus arrived is far beyond comparing to the thrill of a sports event or movie. Yet finding the courage to share what God has done in our own lives can be difficult. God gives us the opportunity to share how our lives can be transformed by his grace. Keep God at the center of your story, and trust him to lead as you share how you have experienced his grace in your life.
Tell another person about the impact of Jesus on your life.
